Bear Lake

Mckenzie having a good time on the boat

Haley striking a pose on the dock. Such a beach Babe!!!

Last week we went up to Bear Lake with my family. It was so much fun!! We stayed at my friend's cabin which was so nice. We hung out, got lots of Raspberry Shakes, watched movies, ate yummy food, went to Raspberry days and got rained on!!!, and best of all went boating. There aren't many things in life that I would rather do then be out on the boat. I LOVE it.

The water was a bit chilly, but we still had fun. We spent almost the whole day on Thursday out on the lake. The water and weather was perfect all day. The kids loved it. I was so proud of my kids. They both got in the lake and swam, which was pretty brave considering the tempurature of the water. Then Tess, my niece went out on the knee board. When she was finished I asked Haley if she wanted to and she said, "yes" stood up, and went to the back of the boat and got in the water with Eric, my brother and went on the knee board. She did so good. Eric said that he kept asking her if she wanted to get back in the boat and she kept saying NO!! She loved it. The water splashed in her face a little bit, I think that is the only thing that bothered her.

Taylor also went on the knee board. I was so proud of her. Last year when we went to Lake Powell she didn't want to do ANYTHING. So this year I kind of expected the same thing. So I told her I would buy her and ice cream cone if she did it, and she said ok. So out she went with Eric. I didn't get any pictures of her because my battery on my camera died so I will have to get some from my parents to show you, but here are some pictures of our vacation.

Taylor's Pre-School Gradutaion

Last night Taylor graduated from her first year of pre-school. I can't believe it, time goes by way too fast. At her Christmas program her class sang a bunch of Christmas songs, well the rest of the class did, Taylor didn't want anything to do with it. It was actually kind of funny. She just stood there and looked around at everyone like, "What is going on?" Then what was really funny is at the end of the program Haley walked up to the front and mouthed words like she was singing along. So anyway, we thought that maybe she had gotten over her shyness in the last 5 months and that she would perform at this program, well once again she didn't. She stood up there and looked out at her Grandma the whole time with a little smirk on her face. Maybe next year. Here are a couple of pictures of her at her graduation.

My Little Haley

Oh Haley!! She is such a sweet little girl. I just love her so much. She is my little girl that has so much fire within her, which at sometimes can be a real struggle to deal with, but on the other hand her fire makes me smile. She is definitely a two year old. She is learning her limits and finding out what she likes and doesn't like. Lately she learned that she doesn't like to have elastics in her hair and so she has been ripping them out when I put her down for her nap, along with LOTS of her hair. So I decided it was time for a hair cute. So my dear friend, Erin cut her hair. I think that it turn out so cute. I totally fits her personality. I love it. Love you Haley!!

Happy Baby

Oh this baby is soooo HAPPY. She LOVES to smile and talk to you, it just melts my heart. I don't remember my other babies smiling and talking this early. She is starting to fill out. She is getting chubby cheeks and rolls on her arms and legs. She is such a good baby. We just love her.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!! I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween of dressing up and eating LOTS of candy. We sure did. We had a great month of activities consisting of lots of dressing up, parties, witches night out! (Which I love), eating lots, and lots, and lots, of candy, making cookies, etc. Here are a couple of pictures of the girls on Halloween.

Here is Tess and Taylor over at Grandma's showing off their costumes.

Haley so excited that she has a WHOLE bag of candy!!

And one of all the girls. Aren't they so cute!! Hello Kitty, Black cat, and a Witch
I didn't do a very good job of getting one of them standing up, actually showing their costumes. I will have to try better next year!

Updating...Finally!

Okay, okay, I know it has been FOREVER since I have updated my blog. I really have been meaning too, but just haven't. So today I finally got the desire to update it with somethings that we have been up too and realized that I let my sister-in-law borrow my camera and so I don't have it to load my pictures. So I will have to post some pictures when I get it back. But I thought that I could at least tell you, well those of you that don't know yet...that we are expecting another baby!! Yep you read that right. Baby number 3, and yes I will have 3 kids under the age of 3. This baby was a bit of a surprise, well a HUGE surprise, but we are excited. I am due at the end of January and we are having a girl. So that is the news. Hope everyone is doing well and getting excited for this fall weather coming up. I will post again soon, I promise.

Haley turned 1

So Haley turned on year old on Tuesday. I can't believe my baby is one already. That year really went way too fast. We had a family party on Monday night. We had dinner, opened presents had yummy dessert, and watched Haley devour her cake. She loved it. Here are some pictures of her party:

This is the table, look at the cute pictures that my friend Jessica took of her. They so cute!! I love them.

This is her cake!! My sister-in-law, Brandi helped me make this cake for Haley, I think it turned out so cute.
Haley got a slide for her Birthday, she absolutely loves it. It was a hit amongst all the kids.

Here is Haley eating her cake. We finally had to take it away from her. I think she could have eaten the whole thing!!

Skirts

So my friend, Jocey and I decided to make these skirts for our girls. We have been working on them for a few days and we finally finished them yesterday. I was worried that they would look really homeade looking, but I actually think that they turned out pretty cute, so I thought I would show them off. I haven't made anything from a pattern for a very, very long time, and it was acutally quite fun. What I really enjoyed was making these shirts to match. We just bought the white shirts for $5 at Old Navy and then used wonder-under and just ironed on these flowers. They literally took less than 5 minutes to make. It makes me want to make a bunch more for the summer.

CRAZY Hair!!

The other day I got Haley out of her crib when she first woke up and the first thing I thought of was, Donald Trump. It was the craziest bed head I have ever seen. So then I put her in her high chair and gave her some bananas and then she rubbed her hands through her hair. So this is the result. Maybe she should be Donald Trump for Halloween.

Daily Life

Taylor trying to go on the "Potty." We have been potty training for the past week or so, well this is the fourth "Round." I am determined to do it this time. This is her second potty chart. It is helping a lot. I think she is finally getting the concept of the whole thing. She is actually doing pretty good. It is just so frustrating when she has an accident. I just have to keep telling myself that it takes time. I have always had a fear of potty training a child, and it is a little harder than I thought, but I know that she will get it soon. So any advice out there of you wise mothers that have been through this, I will gladly take it.

I have always loved those pictures of children who fall asleep in places other than their beds. I don't think that my kids have really done it that much because they both are the type that have to fall asleep in their cribs, but today we were eating lunch and Taylor says, "mommy, Haley is asleep." And she started laughing. It was so funny. So I just had to take a picture of it. I guess she was just so tired.

Lights at Temple Square

Wow!! It sure has been a long time since I have updated. I am sorry I will try to do better and updating more often. This year we have talking a lot about some traditions that we want to do as a family. Our kids our getting the age where they are going to remember what we do around Christmas time so we made a list of some things that we want to do. Last Monday night we went with my family to a live Nativity in Alpine. We first met at Barbacoa and got dinner and then we went to a church up in Alpine got all bundled up and rode in a horse trailer to up a barn. It was so neat. There was a live camel, sheep, and donkey. They also had Roman soldiers riding on horses asking for our name and taxes and if we have seen a new born baby. There were people dressed up and doing different things like making baskets, grinding wheat, etc. - acting like people from Bethlehem. Then in a different stable there was Mary, Joseph and the baby. I was so neat to see in real life. Then we went to my moms and had hot chocolate and played games.

Last Wednesday night we went to Temple Square. We first rode Trax from my bothers house to the Gateway and ate at California Pizza Kitchen, mmmm I absolutely love that place. Especially their spinach artichoke dip. If you haven't gotten that there, it is must!! Then we took trax over to the temple and walked around. It was fun to see all the lights. It doesn't matter how many times you have seen the lights they are truly amazing. I can't imagine how much work goes in to that. I did miss the huge red tree though. They stopped doing that a couple years ago and it is missed. Then we went and got some warm drinks at Starbucks. I got the Carmel apple cider. Delicious. So thanks family for the fun couple of days. Here are some pictures:

Taylor all bundled up getting ready to to on Trax, she looks like the kid who can't put his arms down.
Tess and Taylor in front of the Pink trees. Look at Tess striking a pose. She is such a crack up, so does stuff like that all the time.

Me and Kevin in front of the orange lights.

Here is Haley all bundled up riding in her stroller. She was so good. She didn't make a peep all night long and she was in her car seat for a near 4-5 hours. Such a good girl!
